Isaac is a Partner in the Litigation team. He focuses on areas of Tax litigation, general commercial litigation with emphasis in debt recovery, employment, insurance, and commodity disputes. Isaac also has considerable experience of civil fraud and criminal matters, and he has been involved in some of the leading cases in this area.

Isaac has previously been seconded to the corporate, commercial department and international arbitration department of Stephenson Harwood in London. He also a former secondee at 3 Verulam Buildings and Essex Court Chambers a leading barristers’ set in London.

Isaac is a former senior lecturer at the Law Development Centre, the only Bar School in Uganda, where he conducted lectures in civil proceedings and commercial transactions.

  • Representing a multinational Beverages Ugandan based entity in an Income and Value Added Tax Dispute involving sums in excess of USD 500,000 at the Tax Appeal Tribunal.
  • Advising a multinational Ugandan based entity on import duty rates in respect to importation of undenatured ethy alcohol, the value of tax sum involved exceeding USD 140,000.
  • Acting for a statutory entity against a multinational Insurance company in a Performance Bond and Advance Payment Guarantee claims at the Court of Appeal, the value of the subject matter being in excess of USD 2,000,000.
  • Advising and setting up an internationally acceptable Integrity Compliance program for a multinational Chinese Road construction firm that had been debarred by the African Development Bank.
  • Acting for an international Bank in a complicated debt recovery against a Ugandan based entity, the value of the subject matter being in excess of USD 5,000,000.
  • Acting for a multinational architectural firm in a contractual dispute involving provision of architectural designs, the value of the subject matter being in excess of USD 500,000.
  • Acting for a multinational company at the Supreme Court of Uganda in a commercial dispute involving supply of drugs on credit, the value of the subject matter being in the excess of US$ 30,000.
  • Representing an international road construction company in a stone pitching dispute at the Supreme Court, the value of the subject matter being in excess of US$ 20,000.
  • Acting for a Ugandan company against the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority in the COMESA Court of Justice.
  • Acting for a former Government employee at the High Court of Uganda in a prosecution involving a sum in the excess of US$ 9 million.
