Mathias has distinguished himself in the fields of Intellectual property law as well as criminal law. He holds an LL.M from the University of London (Lond), degree in Corporate & Commercial Law, and an LL.B (Hons) of Makerere University. He is a prominent Member of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (London), and of The International Trademarks Association (INTA), among others.
Mathias has a wealth of experience in litigation, conveyance and intellectual property law. He works with the litigation department of the firm.
Mathias has been appointed a member of the Board of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) and is an external Examiner at the Law Development Centre in Uganda.
Mathias also chaired the Uganda Law Society committee set up to advise on the revision of the Trademarks Law in Uganda, leading to the New Trademarks Act of 2010.
He is a practicing Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and Courts subordinate thereto and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
